UKG Pro 2024.R2 Release: A Closer Look at the Top 4 New Features

With every new release, exciting new features are introduced, and the recent UKG Pro 2024.R2 release is no exception.

In this blog post, I want to share with you the top 4 new release features of the UKG Pro solution that I personally found super valuable. These enhancements are designed to make our lives easier and more efficient when using the system. So, let's jump right in and explore these awesome new features together!

1. Enhancement name: Canada Dental Measures Act

This new feature in "Company Setup" introduces a field that allows you to designate the default company-level dental coverage offered to employees. This designation is automatically applied to employees who haven't been directly assigned a value

Here’s how to enable this feature:

Menu > System Configuration > Company Setup > Select a Component Company > Company information

Note: The Effective From year still needs to be updated at the Employee Level.

2. Enhancement name: Pre-Check Advance Detail Register Standard Report

Introducing the new Pre-Check Advance Detail Register report! This report is specifically designed to assist you in validating your pay data before submitting payroll. Serving a similar purpose as the existing Advanced Detail Payroll Register standard report, it provides both the employee and employer amounts.

With this enhancement, the validation process is streamlined, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in preparing for payroll submission

Here’s how to enable this feature:

To be able to activate this report, access needs to be added in the security role under the Standard Reports Access Rights.

3. Enhancement name: New Charge Date Column in View Pay Data Excel

In the “Pay Data Status” page Administration > Payroll Processing > Payroll Gateway > Select a Pay Group > Things I can do pane > View Pay Data, there is a new column called "Charge Date." This column provides information about the charge dates associated with each imported record in the Pay Data Status grid.

Furthermore, there is a change to the labelling of the "Exception" column, which is now relabeled as "Message."

You can export the data to Excel, where the “Charge Date” column will be visible. This enhancement allows for better visibility and analysis of the charge dates associated with the pay data.

4. Enhancement name: Code/Description when adding Earning

Previously, the complete code and description of earnings were not visible in the drop-down list when adding them to an employee file. However, after the recent enhancement, they are now displayed in the drop-down list.

To access the Add/Change Earning page, follow these steps:

Menu > Administration > Employee Admin > My Employees > Select an employee > Pay > Earnings > Select Add.
